The CASTED course is an emergency orthopaedic course focusing on patients with acute MSK injuries. Focus is on assessment, accurate diagnosis, advanced x-ray interpretation, reductions and immobilization, and knowing when to follow-up.
This course covers all major limb joints and includes 12 lectures, filmed live over two days, plus bespoke, multi-camera tutorials covering all major practical examination, and reduction, techniques.

Arun Sayal & Matt DiStefano
Dr Sayal is an Emergency Physician, with a specialist interest in orthopaedics, at North York General Hospital in Toronto, Canada. He is the founder of the CASTED Course and has presented over 250 ED orthopaedic workshops and received over a dozen teaching awards.
Dr Matt DiStefano is an Emergency Physician and Orthopaedic Surgeon and one of the lead educators on the CASTED Course. He is also a ski instructor, race car instructor and music enthusiast.
500 miles is a registered charity helping poor people in Malawi and Zambia who have impaired mobility or restricted body function as a result of amputation, congenital deformity, illness or accident, by supplying and subsidizing the supply of prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (braces or splints for limbs, neck or spine). £30 from your course fee will support the development and delivery of sustainable prosthetic and orthotic services in Malawi and Zambia so that these services will last to assist future generations as well as the people it helps today.
